In the summers of 2003 and 2004, Nancy Dahlhauser spent a month alone in Sanibel Island, Florida. During this time, she wrote a memoir which chronicles her journey of recovery from the devastating effects of a sexual assault she experienced at the tender age of eight.
In 2007, after reading The Heart Of Buddha’s Teaching by Thich Nhat Hanh, Nancy finally found the courage to seek publication. She now believes that it is her destiny to share her story with fellow survivors of childhood trauma, their family members, and those in the mental health profession.
Nancy hopes to inspire fellow survivors to continue their journey of recovery, and to share a unique insight into the traumatized mind with counselors and family members of survivors. After years of emotional anguish, Nancy finally understands that human suffering can be transformed when one opens their heart to others.
